Long County held its Christmas parade on Saturday, and with the cooler temperatures, spectators got into the spirit of the season.
The parade began at 2 p.m., with Grand Marshall Lillian Simmons leading the way.
This year’s parade had 45 entries make their way through downtown Ludowici. It was emceed by Tammy Ballance and Charlie Smith.
Hinesville’s Yoko Robertson was among those who turned out.
“Gosh, everyone is so warm and friendly over here,” Robertson said. “It was so well-organized, and the kids seemed to love it.”
Savannah resident Karen Gleim waited in line with her granddaughter, 3-year-old, Brianna Gleim, to see Santa. The elder Gleim had only good things to say about the parade.
“The kids all got a lot of candy thrown to them, and we just had a wonderful time,” she said.
The winner of this year’s Best Float Award went to the Hinesville Area Realtors. Second place was awarded to the Long County Wildlife Festival, while third place went to First Baptist Church of Ludowici.
The parade was organized and sponsored by the Long County Chamber of Commerce.
