The Liberty County Pre-K Center attracted more than 250 people for its recent Winterfest celebration, despite the cold temperatures.
The festival offered a variety of games such as miniature golf, basketball, jewelry making, karaoke, face painting, mask designing, etc. There was also food, pictures with Santa and a train ride.
Organzers staged a live auction for 31 baskets, each with a different theme. Themes included books, girls frills and fun, car care, gardening, snowmen, gingerbread, coffee, chocolate lovers, etc.
A University of Georgia basket fetched the biggest bid. It included a football signed by Herschel Walker.
The center faculty said the school’s military sponsor, the 2-7 Infantry, provided a lot of hard work before, during and after the festival.
They also acknowledged Harry Rogers, who acted as auctioneer. He motivated the crowd to dig deep into their pockets and bid on the baskets to help support Pre-K.
