Criminal trespass, April 9
Honey Creek Lane

Police responded to reports of shots being fired at a residence. The complainant stated she heard three gunshots behind her home and that a bullet had shattered her back patio glass door. Police found three BB pellets in the area around the back door and advised the complainant her house would be placed on the house checklist.


Suspicious fire, April 9
Blaire Court

A homeowner told police about a fire burning along the wood line behind his residence. He said he saw a group of juveniles in the area earlier and believed they started the fire. Hinesville Fire Department was able to extinguish the blaze with minimal damage to the woods and no damage to the nearby residences.


Simple battery, April 9
E.G. Miles Parkway

A complainant reported that while she was working she heard loud talking outside her office. She went to see what was going on and noticed a client who appeared agitated. When she turned to go back into her office, the client attacked her. The client was then escorted out of the office by staff. The client’s mental capacity is reportedly severely diminished and the complainant did not want to press charges. The complainant was escorted to Liberty Regional Medical Center.


Cruelty to animals, April 10
Deveraux Road

Two people reported seeing a neighbor kick a puppy in the mouth. Police contacted the man, who denied kicking the animal. The man was found washing his dog when the police arrived. The dog was visibly shaking, and police heard a grinding sound coming from the animal’s mouth. It was determined the dog was bleeding from his lower jaw and several teeth were missing. The man was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals. The small, tan, mixed-breed pup was surrendered to Animal Control.
