The fundraiser is for the Long County Blue Tide Diamond Booster Club, which supports the high school's baseball team. In the contest, "ladies" from the boys team dress up in evening gowns and high heels to see who will win the coveted crown.
The master of ceremonies was the Rev. Eric Rentz. The judge was Debi Smith.
All of the contestants marched across the stage and answered questions posed by Rentz and monitored by Smith.
The questions were
on various topics and answers ranged from "I want world peace" to "I love mom."
Anitaman (Kaleb) Gaitten was crowned the 2009 Miss Diamond Legs Queen, by 2008 winner Delicious (Eric Hadley)Handleman.
The first runner-up was La-a (Bryan) Wingate. Second runner-up was Shandale (Shane) White. Third runner-up was Gergomana (Ryan) Mallette. And fourth runner-up was Shattia (Jake) Durham.
The people's choice queen, most sponsored queen, and the winner of the prettiest smile award was Chrissy (Chris) Stock.
De'Janna (Daryle) Livingston was named most beautiful. The prettiest hair award went to Sha Nay Nay (Jonathon) Flynn. And taking home the prettiest dress award was Eve (Stevie) Harrison.
In addition to the
pageant, the booster club had a cake and treat auction.
