Liberty Manor Court

A worker reported finding a gun in an apartment she was inspecting after the tenants moved out. A trace of the gun’s serial number did not indicate it had been stolen. The weapon was described as a silver Jennings .22 caliber semi-automatic, serial number 639558. HPD placed the gun into the evidence locker for safekeeping.

A complainant reported her 1-month-old child was taken from her grandmother’s house without permission. Police contacted the alleged offender and advised her to return the child, but she refused until police told her she would be arrested. The child was eventually returned to his mother who decided not to pursue charges at that time.

DUI/disorderly conduct

Inwood Drive

Police, who made a traffic stop after a vehicle ran a stop sign, asked the driver for his license. The man was unable to provide it, got out of the vehicle and ran. Police caught the offender in the woods behind his residence. He was taken to HPD where he was given a breath test and was found to be under the influence. He was cited with DUI, driving without a license, failure to obey a stop sign, and disorderly conduct and released on bond with a court date.

Police were asked to assist with a patient who was behaving irrationally and was mildly incoherent. The patient had to be restrained with shackles for his safety and that of others, and was taken to the hospital where he was sedated and treated.
