The YMCA of Coastal Georgia plans to help members who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. Any member who becomes involuntarily unemployed will be eligible to continue membership for up to three months or until becoming employed again at no charge.
Participating Y’s include Liberty County’s, according to director Lee Boggess.
The offer is for the same level of membership previously held. Eligible members should visit the YMCA of Coastal Georgia home branch, bring a copy of their separation notice and fill out paperwork.
The Y’s volunteer leaders and staff said they will try to offset the affects of the present economic downturn.
