At about 7 p.m., Wayne Hampton, manager of the MAM Development Mobile Home Park, discovered an old barn at the park was ablaze. The structure was used for storing building materials and parts for maintenance on the park.
According to Hampton, fire crews were at the scene within 10 minutes of the call, but the fire had already engulfed the building.
“I walked outside and saw it burning, and the next thing I know, it was getting it,” Hampton said.
Firefighter Randy Combs said four engines responded to the blaze, along with 13 firefighters from the Ludowici/ Long and Glennville fire departments.
The barn and all of its contents were destroyed. Mike Mulligan is the reported owner of the property.
Fire crews stayed at the scene until around 8:15 p.m.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
