Looking to get a glimpse of the prosecutorial system, Bradwell Institute graduate Nicholas Heron has returned to Hinesville for a summer internship with the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office. He will be working closely with DA Tom Durden and his team.
After BI Heron attended Georgia Southern before heading out to the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is scheduled to graduate USC next May.
“I want to check out prosecution,” Heron said. “Check out the office and get my hands dirty, so this was a good opportunity to come back home and get some experience in prosecution.”
Heron said many law students don’t get the chance to be in court so he is looking forward to the challenge.
“It’s not common to get an opportunity to do real court work while doing a summer internship,” he said. “Usually you are just doing research.”
“We are glad to have Nick with us this summer,” Durden said. “We are looking forward to putting him right to work. There will be plenty for him to do.”
Heron was sworn in on Monday by Liberty County Superior Court Judge David Cavender.
