LUDOWICI — In a joint undercover investigation between the Liberty/Long Multi Agency Crack Enforcement team and the Long County Sheriff’s Department, six people were arrested recently for drug related charges.
On May 8, MACE and LCSD K-9 Deputies Craig Nobles and Jimmy Middleton initiated Operation Spring Cleanup in the Sand Hill community.
Six arrests were made as a result of an investigation that began in January of drug activity. The investigation consisted of locating those individuals who sold illegal drugs and those who were in the possession of illegal drugs.
Those arrested on May 8 were:
Jesse Monk, 17, charged with the possession of cocaine,
Kenneth Hill, 21, two counts of selling cocaine
Aaron Williams, 22, sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent and tools for the commission of a crime
Caesar Torres II, 25, sale of cocaine and the possession of marijuana, one ounce
Daniel Williams, 18, sale of a controlled substance
Yamil Torres, 22, sale of a controlled substance
According to information provided by the MACE team, seven more alleged offenders will be arrested in the near future on charges ranging from selling alcohol to a minor, to selling of a controlled substance.
“The drug problem is terrible, and it is getting worse and worse, but we are doing all we can to keep these people who are selling drugs off the street,” Sheriff Cecil Nobles said.
The sheriff added, “I also appreciate the work that MACE does they are always here to help us, and we are always willing to help them in any way that we can.”
