The Lady Panthers hosted the Camden County Wildcats last Saturday and were able to hold on in a game that came down to free-throws for the win (45-42). The key for the Panthers was the teamwork between no. 12, Kourtney Alexander and no. 14 Nisha Adams. On several occasions Alexander was able to pass the ball to Adams who had positioned herself for the lay up at the basket and points scored.
Alexander was also the top scorer for the Lady Panthers. Another key player for the Panther was no. 5 Metra Walthour who ended the half with a steal and a drive down the center of the court for the easy lay up shot, making it a 24-11 game for the Lady Panthers.
The Panthers continued to maintain the lead for the third period but the Wildcats, sensing the urgency, turned on the offense throughout the fourth period and with 41 seconds remaining brought the score within two points (42-40). The Panthers were able to use the final seconds remaining and ended the game with a 45-42 win.
The Lady Panthers are 1-2 in the region and 6-4 overall in Division 3-AAA.
