The children of Mary Lee Cox’s class received a treat thanks to Liberty County Fire Coordinator James Ashdown and the Coastal Electric Cooperative Foundation.
Buzzly the Fire Safety Bee visited their Button Gwinnett Elementary School classroom recently and provided an interactive lesson on fire safety using a video and live student demonstrations.
A foundation grant paid for fire safety materials being distributed to five elementary classrooms, 12 day care centers, both public libraries, and all 10 fire stations in the county.
The grant will allow the Buzzly Fire Safety Program to reach an estimated 1,627 children and help them learn the importance on fire safety.
