DARIEN — Authorities have arrested two of three Florida men accused of robbing a bank on U.S. 17 in Darien.
The FBI says three men entered The Heritage Bank branch brandishing a .30-caliber carbine, a handgun and possibly a shotgun shortly after noon Monday. They forced people onto the floor, and two robbers jumped over the teller counter and took an undisclosed amount of money.
The trio were chased by police before their van ran into a tree about 10 miles north of Darien.
The FBI says Alfredo Germain Mason, 20, of Opa-locka,, and Aaron Jermaine Jackson, 19, of West Palm Beach were arrested. At large is Michael David Palmer, 50, originally from Darien and recently living in Miami.
