Kiwanis donation will help victims of burns

The Kiwanis Club of Liberty County recently presented a check to Don Williams fire service liaison from the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.

The money will aid Camp Oo-U-Lah, a burn camp for children in Georgia. The camp’s name means “cool running water.” The club donates to the camp every year. The Hinesville Fire Department also attended the meeting and presented a $2,500 check to the foundation. The foundation is primarily concerned with education, prevention and treatment of burns throughout the Southeast.

To date, the foundation has reportedly touched the lives of thousands of people in Georgia and the Southeast through its three-fold mission: 1. To educate the public in burn awareness and prevention. 2. To support medical facilities, care for burn victims in Georgia. 3. To assist burn survivors in their recovery
