WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Jack Kingston, R-1st Ga., announced recently that he will sponsor a series of workshops during the open enrollment season for the Medicare Part D prescription drug program.
Those who are enrolled or want to enroll in the program must sign up or make changes during the open enrollment period, which runs through Dec. 31. The following workshops are scheduled for in Hinesville and Savannah next week:

Hinesville

When: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday, Dec. 14
Where: Savannah Technical College’s Liberty campus, 100 Technology Drive, computer lab 109, Hinesville.

Savannah
When: 2-5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14
Where: Armstrong Center, 11935 Abercorn St., computer lab, Savannah.
Anyone eligible for the plan is encouraged to attend and bring a list of all prescriptions they are currently taking. Staff from Georgia Cares, a program of the Georgia Department of Human Resources and Division of Aging Services and Area Agencies on Aging, will answer questions.
“The cost and coverage of the Medicare prescription drug plan can change over time,” Kingston said. “I encourage those people with Medicare to take this time to review those changes and make sure they still have the plan that best fits their needs or the needs of their loved one. Adequate prescription drug coverage is very important to many older Americans and we want to make sure that all of their questions are answered.”
For more information about the drug plan, call 1-800-MEDICARE or go to www.MEDICARE.gov. For questions about the training workshop schedule, call (912) 367-7403.
