Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity. Nor do we know what motivated the callers:

E.G. Miles, Highway 196, more serious accidents and people carried out on stretchers, on School House Road, Arlington Park and Deal Street, because our city officials won’t do anything about adding a center turn lane from railroad tracks to Blockbuster.

Walmart, we need help. Now we have to cut our way through the smoke screen to get in the store. Please establish a 50-foot non-smoking zone around all entrances to the store.

If Al Williams believes feels officials should lead by example, he should pay all property and state taxes.
I read in Army Times our president is going to do away with Social Security. That’ll just result in higher unemployment because older workers will be out there stealing jobs from the younger workers because they are already trained.

Reference neighborhoods spoiled by junked cars and multiple people in dwellings: Whoever enforces the ordinance should start on Olive Street and Madison toward Inwood. Lack of enforcement is ruining our neighborhoods.

People need to stop being so racist and worry about their own problems. If God didn’t want people to mix races we wouldn’t be able to have kids together.

I don’t blame the people in the education system for living in communities surrounding Hinesville. I wouldn’t live here either if I was them. Noise, vulgarity, trash, no ordinances enforced all are problems here.

When you look at all the officials around here I think we have a little bit of Washington right here in Hooterville.

I’d like to know if the needs of the four families that lost their homes to the fire on Fort Stewart housing have been met.
