Liberty County’s Bottoms Up Coalition is encouraging people to get colo-rectal screenings to check for cancer.
Using the theme “If you’re over 50, make your bottom your top priority,” the group operates through the Liberty County Health Department. It is using some grant money to pay for tests for low-income residents.
Deidre Howell, director of the department, said screenings can help detect cancer early, making treatment easier and more successful. Call the department at 876-2173, ext. 218, to see if you qualify.
