The spring tides started this past week. That, along with a strong northeast wind, gave us higher than normal tides. Some of the folks living along the coast had the tides come up into their yards. Because of this, there were only a few reports of trout being caught and Ray Goodman from Yellow Bluff Fishing Camp reported that the high tides had washed out all fishing activity. The tides should return to normal and that should improve fishing conditions for the rest of the month. The white shrimp are moving into our waters as well as the school bass and the king and Spanish mackerel. That will improve our offshore fishing as well.Goodman has plenty of live local shrimp and minnows, so now is the time to take that fishing trip. Just remember if you do go fishing, to  always keep a tight line.
