Sound off for Aug. 29

Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

I add to the Aug. 13 Sound off call. You do not have to be visually impaired to have trouble reading the TV listings. I am not visually impaired and have to use a magnifying glass to read it.

 Please, please, please people, if you bring a dog into your family, treat it as a family member. Animals would put us all to shame if they could talk.

 I just want to know if anyone who graduated from Brewton-Parker College actually found a job with just a bachelor’s degree, or did you have to go ahead and get a master’s?

What’s going on with the water pressure out on Clay Street? Some of us can hardly get water enough to even fill up a pitcher to drink tea in the afternoon. And a fellow should come out here and check it. The water is very, very slow.

 Some of the bus drivers should be kinder to the students in the afternoon. They talk to them very ugly. Some children are afraid to get on the bus.

 Not to be disrespectful of the dead, but how can you earn four Vietnam combat badges in 1976 when the war ended in 1975?

According to the Georgia Constitution, the main duty of the tax commissioner is to collect taxes, to include delinquent taxes.
