Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Yesterday I spent $5,000 at a local bank and only got five pieces of paper. Pretty expensive paper, huh?

I passed Manna House early one morning and there as a line around the corner. It made me cry. Come on Hinesville, we can get together and help those who need help.

I’m calling about Manna House and how they treat people. I went twice and they told me I couldn’t come there any more. I thought it was supposed to help people.

Thank you, Hinesville. Mr. Mayor, you go to China and I have to buy new tires because all the potholes here are not repaired.

I have never heard of being able to not buy a ticket at a football game or scrimmage. Sounds like whoever was in charge didn’t want anyone to attend.

I see where the mayor is planning another trip to China. This is in violation of federal law and exceeding the limits of local government. Only the federal government can work outside the United States.
