Long County hosted its first BMX race last Saturday at the new BMX track on Buster Phillips Road.

Last Saturday in Ludowici, the Long County BMX Track hosted its first race, introducing Long County to the sport of bicycle motocross racing Kailee Daw, Tyler Daw, Toby Daw and Bryan Dakota competed in the race.

Toby Daw was eliminated in the preliminary qualifier. In the final race, Bryan took the checkered flag with Tyler Daw coming in second and Kailee Daw taking third.

Track owner Greg Daw said there will be races at 1:30 p.m. every Sunday and the track will open at 11 a.m. for practice. Trophies will be awarded. The Long County BMX Track is at 2006 Buster Phillips Road.
