Saints visit Long County tonight, Appling comes to town Saturday

The Long County High School Lady Tide is back in action tonight against St. Vincent’s Academy in Ludowici.
The Saints are 9-5 overall and 6-2 in Region 2-AA. Long County is 0-10 over all and 0-8 in the Region.
Stn Vincent’s won 71-27 when the teams met in December.
The Saints average 46 points while allowing 43 per game. Long County is scoring 30 points a contest and giving up 58.
Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, both the Lady Tide and Blue Tide travel to Appling County High School for a region doubleheader.
In the opener, the Long County girls face the Lady Pirates (10-4, 6-2), who on average are outscoring opponents 51-43 a contest. The boys game follows, and Long County is facing a squad they’ve already beaten once this year. When the Tide and Pirates met in December Long County won 61-56.
Both teams have overall records of 5-8, but Long County is 4-3 in the region while Appling County is 1-6.
The teams are close statistically: the Tide is averaging 55 points a game, the Pirates 54. Defensively, Long County gives up 61 points a contest while Appling allows 60.
The Lady Tide game begins at 6:30 p.m. and the Blue Tide tip-off at 8 p.m.
