Area schools hit the hardwood in Hinesville on Saturday morning for the annual Donell Woods Memorial tournament held at Snelson Golden, Lewis Frasier Middle School and Bradwell Institute.

At Bradwell Institute, Johnson took down Camden County 35-29 in a boys’ JV contest. In game two of the JV boys’ bracket, Benedictine was outscored by Brunswick Pirates 49-31.

At Snelson Golden, the junior varsity girls went head to head and Glynn Academy beat Camden County 38-28 in game one.

Game two provided some excitement, as Brunswick cut Statesboro’s lead by one with 4.2 seconds left on the clock. Statesboro held on to win 42-41.

Not all games were complete by the Courier deadline. At press time BI was scheduled to take on the Red Terrors in a girls’ JV matchup.
