McIntosh County Academy won the second annual Doc Williams ninth-grade basketball tournament Saturday at Liberty County High School.

The Buccaneers went undefeated in the boys round robin tourney, knocking off Liberty 56-51, Statesboro 43-42 and Brunswick 41-39.

In other contests, Brunswick beat Statesboro 46-42, Statesboro downed Liberty 60-47 and Liberty edged Brunswick 63-60.

Liberty County varsity boys basketball coach Willie Graham said the games were "very intense."
