Robert Toombs Academy proved no match for First Presbyterian on Tuesday as the Highlanders ran past the Crusaders 75-25 at St. James Sports Center.

The Highlanders earned win No. 26 in their final, regular-season home game and honored seniors DJ Felder, Jordan Johnson, Martin Causer and Mike Tige just before tip-off. First Presbyterian is 26-3 overall and 7-0 in Region 2-AA of the Georgia Independent School Association.

Johnson and Felder led the squad with 29 and 21 points, respectively. Senior Martin Causer hit a 3-pointer in his last regular-season home game.

"He has improved and he has really helped us," Highlander coach David Jones said of Causer. "He got a lot of loose balls tonight and he never quits hustling. And he has such a great personality that he fit in with the kids. It’s been a joy and a pleasure to have him on the team."

Jones had nothing but praise for the team’s high-scoring senior duo.

"I don’t know whether you really replace kids like that," the veteran coach said of Johnson and Felder. "You can coach for a lifetime and you may not have a pair coming up at the same time where one of them is a tremendous guard and the other is a tremendous inside player."

The Highlanders’ first unit was up 23-8 in the first quarter and never relinquished its lead. Jones had the opportunity to rest his starters during the second half.

The Highlanders are scheduled to play Frederica Academy tonight at 7:30 p.m.

FPCA top scorers:

Jordan Johnson 29, DJ Felder 21, Jarquez Smith 11, Martin Causer 5, Michael Burnett 5, Mike Tige 4
