Bradwell’s boys have won four out of their last five games, including three region wins against Windsor Forest, Islands and Benedictine in the last two weeks of the regular season.

"By winning against Benedictine Friday night I think we have locked up the number seven seed in the region tournament. I think we will probably end up playing Savannah who will more than likely be the second seed. Jenkins has already taken the number one seed," Bradwell Tigers Head Coach Pete Woodard said.

Since region 3-AAAA added Benedictine and Islands this year the boys side will also have to have play in games to determine the final seeded teams of the tournament. Only eight teams are seeded for the region tournament.

Bradwell will face Islands Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Groves High School. The other play-in game will be Camden vs. Benedictine.

The Tigers throttled Islands in both games this year.

"When we played Benedictine we really stressed to the players that you want to beat BC because if we didn’t, we could have ended up playing them again in a play-in game and they certainly would have had momentum on their side," Woodard said.

The Tigers have had a guard-oriented offense all year long. Guard Miguel Pineda is averaging 9.2 points per game through 22 games this season. Senior forward Rodney Hawkins, who joined the team in the second semester, is averaging 10.5 points per game through 14 games. He is also grabbing about six rebounds per game. Cameron Kight has been averaging five rebounds per game. Point guard Javonte Richey has been recording five assists per game this season.

"If it ends up that we have to play Savannah the first round of the tournament, the key for us is going to be taking care of the ball. We played them last week and had a pretty good defensive, but we just turned the ball over too much and especially at some really bad times," Woodard said.
