Students bring history to life

John Wood’s eighth grade students at Snelson Golden Middle School paid a tribute to the history and heritage of Georgia with a presentation at the school’s media center for Georgia Day Monday.
Faculty, staff, and Claire McLean of the BoE walked through the different displays as the student’s spoke about the specific topics they worked on. The displays were:
Georgia sports by Trey Sikes and Garrett McCorkle  
Georgia Indians by Jenny Windham and Aron Malick
Georgia geography by Adrein Vakerics and Kelli Dunlap
Georgia colonization by Becca Lee and Rebekkah Smith
Revolutionary War period by Brian Jackson and Ryan Barnes
Expansionism period by Trevor Frey and Kalle Pray
Antebellum period by Natawnya McMillian and Aubrey Stevenson
Civil War and Reconstruction period by Nicole Puckett and Brandee Craig
Progressive era by Bo Young Song and Rachel Trawick
Great Depression, WWII period by Aaron Arnold and Sean Wickham
Civil Rights period by Garrett Strickland and Jamal Wright
Georgia foods by Sean Lee and Maria Soto
Georgia politicians by Jillian Gonzales and Brandon Lammey
