Ware County High School blasted visiting Liberty County, 27-1, on Tuesday in a Region 2A-AAAA contest.

The loss drops the Panthers to 1-8 in the region. With only one region game left, the chance for a playoff run is unlikely. Liberty County coach David Samuel said it’s up to his players to turn things around and start playing for pride.

"We have four more chances at playing baseball this season," he said. "I have nine senior boys who will never step on a high school baseball field again after next week. Pride must kick in to pick up some victories at the end."

The Panthers will close region play today at Glynn Academy. After that, the team has three non-region games left on the schedule. The Panthers host Savannah Christian on Saturday, McIntosh Academy on Monday and then travel to Southeast Bulloch next Wednesday. Liberty is 4-12 overall.
