The Law Enforcement Information Sharing Network’s second annual golf tournament was Friday at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart.
The event is a part of a networking program designed to bring together law-enforcement agencies in the area to help build better departmental relationships.  It also raised $5,100 to go to Helen’s Haven
In the Local Law Enforcement Division, the winning duo was Rodney Hargus and Roland Gilbert with a 68. Taking home first place in the Garrison Division was the team of Kevin McLaughlin and Cecil Mann, who finished the day with a 66.
Winning the Military Law Enforcement Division were Michael Doggett and Anthony Green, whose 65 was also the low score for the tournament
Andy Gose at No. 6 and Bryan Van Riper at No. 18 won the longest-drive awards. Steven More won closest-to-the-pin.
Hinesville Ford was one of three local car dealerships to put up a new car if one of the competitors nailed a hole-in-one.
“We’re proud to be a supporter of law enforcement and all other public-safety agencies,” Hinesville Ford General Manager Fred Mingledorff said. “A golf tournament like this, where you have law enforcement from all over the area getting together to network and share ideas, can only help make our communities a little safer.”
Ludowici Police Department Chief Richard Robertson, who along with Sgt. J.D. Campbell won their division last year, were tournament directors this year.
“There are way too many people who helped to be able to thank them all for their support,” Robertson said.
“But I do want to say thanks to all the hole sponsors, those who donated food and door prizes and all who helped put the day together. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.”
