SAVANNAH — Local nonprofit human-service organizations have from July 15-Sept. 12 to apply for program funding from The Community Fund of United Way of the Coastal Empire.

The Community Fund is the major funding source for human services within United Way’s four-county service area of Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. Through its strategic annual allocation process, driven by dozens of community volunteers, United Way awards funding to programs that are achieving results in one or more of its four priority issue areas: education and youth development, health and wellness, economic independence and basic human needs.

Programs must meet eligibility requirements and be able to demonstrate alignment to standard results, provide measurable indicators of success and verify the efficient and effective use of resources.

The 2012 Request for Investment application is managed via the online software system, e-C Impact. New applicants may request registration for e-C Impact by going to www.uwce.org and clicking on the e-C Impact logo on the bottom of the home page. It will direct users to the appropriate login link within the United Way website, where additional information about program funding may be found.

The submission date for completed applications is 5 p.m. Sept. 12. Final funding decisions and award announcements will be available in March.
