Long County teen Nick Stock finished fourth overall in his division last weekend at the 2011 North American Strongman National Teenage Championship in Lancaster, Ohio.
Some of Stock’s individual results included lifting a 200-pound log for two repetitions in the clean and press event, dragging a 225-pound railroad mat for a length of 160 feet in a time of 32.03 seconds, lifting a 220-pound Atlas stone, and lifting and carrying a 205-pound keg in a medley event.
Stock, 14, competed in the teen division, going against other strongmen ranging in ages between 17-19 years old.  He was the youngest competitor in the division.
Kim Stock, the strongman’s mother, praised her son and the sponsors who helped finance his trip.
“We are very proud of him and his accomplishments,” Stock said. “We had awesome sponsors. Friends, family and local businesses … we were so blessed, and it was an awesome experience for him.”
