SGMS National Junior Society inducts members

Nineteen students from Snelson-Golden Middle School were inducted as new members of the National Junior Honor Society in a ceremony at school Sept. 25. Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, citizenship and character.
Eighth grade students inducted were Emily Carrier, Tyla Courtney, Chanelle Craig, Morgan Fermin, Savannah Fincham, Vaughn Head, Delayna Hoang, Breanne Ilges, Eun-bi Seo, Terence Staples and Lindsey Williams.
Seventh grade students were Brittany Burriss, Sydney Diaz, Danielle Garcia, Ashlee Howe, Samantha, O’Neal, Shaunquelle Sapp, Nicolas Schwerzler and Audrey Zipperer.
Mary Ryan and Sharyl Eastlake are the NJHS advisors .
They said they were very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body.
NJHS members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community.
Each year, the NJHS members sponsor service projects for the school and community. The National Junior Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for students.
Chapters exist in more than 6,000 schools, and since 1929, millions of students have been selected for membership.
NJHS is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
The members and advisors credited Kelly Davis for his generous contribution to the society. His donation enabled the chapter to purchase a new NJHS banner to be used for meetings, ceremonies and parades.
They also expressed appreciation for Food Lion for their gift card donation used to purchase refreshments for the induction ceremony.
