The 100 plus degree heat didn’t stop the Liberty County Thunder 14U baseball team from battling it out in a tournament last weekend. But the Thunder fell short in the championship game against a team made up of players from Wayne County and Brunswick. Coach Ricky Cross and Pat Sammons said they were still proud of the team’s second-place finish, adding their players never caved in and played with tremendous determination and heart. “They never quit or felt they were out of a game,” Sammons said.
