Kool Kids for Christ, a free after-school program at St. James Community Center offers tutoring and sports. School-age children are encouraged to participate, but registration is required. The children will have worship and praise service followed by tutoring or private homework time. They may then participate in 45 minutes of sports before receiving dinner and going home. YMCA winter fun
Registration for basketball youth, teen and adult is Monday through Nov. 1. Adult Flag Football registration is Monday through Nov. 1.
The YMCA will be hosting ballroom dancing from 6:45-7:45 on Thursdays is under way through Nov. 15. Registration costs $90 per couple for YMCA members and $135 per couple for program members. For more information, call Richard Somerville at 368-5311.
Bass club
The Liberty County Bass Club meets monthly and takes periodic trips. Members do not have to have boats. The club is a member of the Georgia Bass Federation and FLW. Call P.J. Schneider at 271-1701 or Keith Causeway at 492-5353.
Bowling

The Friday Night Mixed League meets at 6:30 p.m. at Marne Lanes. The league has four members per team (the usual two men and two women, three women and one man or three men and one woman).

The Community Church Bowling League will meet at Marne Lanes at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays. This is a mixed, handicapped league. Come prepared to bowl. Men and women are welcome.
Coastal Crew Rebels
Registration for the St. James Coastal Crew Rebels basketball league runs through Nov. 20. Age groups are 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. Registration is free but you must be registered to be considered for the teams. Volunteer coaches are also needed. In addition to basketball, the weight room is open from 2-8 p.m. and is available to school athletes. For more information, call Ernie Walthour at 884-3016.
Chamber Golf Classic
Will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, at Cherokee Rose Country Club. The tournament will be a four-man scramble. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
Shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. McDonald’s will sponsor breakfast and Baldinos will sponsor lunch after the tournament. Hinesville Ford will offer a new car to a lucky person who gets a hole-in-one on number three during the tournament.There will be a 50/50 raffle and other door prizes. The cost is $200 per four-man team or $50 per player. The prizes include first-place-$400; second-place-$200; and third-place-$100. There are still opportunities to become a corporate- or a hole-sponsor.
