The 2012 AAU season just got started, and already the 15U Liberty Thunder team proved they will be hard to beat. The team finished second in a tournament in Statesboro on Aug. 12-13. Coach Patrick Sammons said it was an accomplishment, considering his 15U team played up a division against 16U teams. The Thunder went 3-1, losing the championship to the Wayne County Rampage. “The boys played well all weekend with great defense and timely hitting,” Sammons said.
