Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School’s softball teams were on the road Tuesday for their first region games of the season.
The Lady Tigers fell,  8-1, to Camden County in Kingsland, while Liberty lost, 11-5, to Glynn Academy in Brunswick.
Despite the Lady Panthers’ 1-7 overall record and 0-1 mark in Region 2A-AAAA, LCHS coach Jerome Standard said he sees improvements in every game.
“We are continuing to play better,” he said. “The team is moving in the right direction and the girls played hard.”
Junior Lady Panther Lori Harden took the loss for Liberty, allowing six hits and three walks while striking out three.
Senior Brittany Desbiens had two doubles and two RBIs to lead Liberty at the plate. Sophomore Victoria Anderson and senior Diamone Johnson each had two singles while Harden singled and drove in a run. Senior Taylor Anderson singled, and freshman Ashley Desbiens had an RBI for Liberty.
Glynn Academy freshman Taylor Logue had eight strikeouts, no walks and gave up eight hits for the win.
Liberty played Richmond Hill on Tuesday in Hinesville.
Bradwell’s 8-1 setback at the hands of Camden County was much closer than the score, Lady Tigers coach Sharyl Eastlake said.

Bradwell held a 1-0 lead until the fourth inning, when the Wildcats took advantage of errors to pull away for the win.
The Lady Tigers are 3-5 overall and 0-1 in Region 3-AAAAA.
This weekend, the Lady Tigers and the Liberty squad will compete in the Battle in the ’Boro tournament at Mill Creek Park in Statesboro.
Bradwell will play Cross Creek at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Walnut Grove at
10:45 a.m. Saturday.
Liberty plays Screven County at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Savannah Christian at 8:30 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, the Lady Panthers play Portal at 9 a.m.
