Liberty County High School lost another hard fought battle on Friday, falling 21-14 to Glynn Academy in Brunswick.
Tight games have been par for the course for the Panthers, who have lost the six of their last seven games by a combined 27 points.
The Panthers (2-7, 0-5) play Friday in a Region 2-AAAA crossover match against sub-region B squad Effingham County.
The Panthers and the Rebels met earlier this season, with Effingham earning an 18-12 win at Donell Woods Stadium. The Panthers hosted the sub-region game last season and will have to travel this year to Springfield.
Effingham is 1-8, 0-5.

Note: Panther running back Shadrach Thornton was just 36 yards shy of reaching 4,000 yards for his high school career headed into Friday night’s game.
Game stats were unavailable at press time, but Thornton reportedly spent the rest of the weekend on his final official college visit at Georgia Tech.
Last week Thornton visited Vanderbilt, where he told reporters of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he was impressed with the university’s treatment of athletes.
Thornton has already given a verbal commitment to Kentucky, but told reporters he would sit down with his mother and coach after the Georgia Tech visit and make a list of pros and cons from his top four choices: Kentucky, Vanderbilt, N.C. State and Georgia Tech.
He is expected to make a final decision within two weeks.
