FFA'ers attend Georgia National Fair

POSTED: November 3, 2011 9:00 p.m.

Future Farmers of America members from Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute participated Oct. 11 in the Georgia National Fair, which ran from Oct. 6-16 in Perry. Twenty-two students from Bradwell and 37 students from LCHS attended, participating in various events including floral design, the agriscience fair, horticultural research and chapter booth display.
The Georgia National Fair is held each fall at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry. The fair highlights two of Georgia’s assets: its agricultural sector and the young people who take an interest in agriculture. FFA and 4-H members participate in horticulture, forestry and leadership activities in addition to swine, dairy, steer, heifer, lamb, goat and horse shows.
FFA is a national organization with more than 540,000 members who are preparing for careers in the science, business and technology sectors of agriculture. FFA’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
