Hello folks, Tight Line Jr. here. We’ve had some nice weather this past weekend but it looks like we are in for a little cool down and a little wind.
I talked with Rayburn Goodman at Yellow bluff Marina this week. He told me about a few boats that went out to the Cat buoy last weekend and really caught a lot of sheepshead. Rayburn said some the fish were really big.
My good friend, Capt. Jim Sheridan down on Saint Simons Island, took a party out last weekend that netted 10 spottail bass and eight sheepshead. Up in Folly Beach, S.C., some dear old friends of mine, Dee Howard and Bobby Loftus, set out last Saturday and by the time they returned to the dock, they netted 15 trout, eight spottail bass and three flounder.
Not many more reports from our area but the dock tour begins this weekend.  I will let you folks know how it went next week. Try this recipe for the Super Bowl game or any time and let me know how you like it.

Hot and spicy crab patties
1 pound of crab meat
1 egg yolk
A real healthy dash of black pepper
1 teaspoon of dry mustard
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. of Dukes mayo
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 chopped raw jalapeno pepper
1 tbsp. melted butter
Light oil for frying
Croutons
Lightly toss crab meat and all ingredients, except the croutons, into the mix. Blend mix together in a blender. Take the crab meat and shape into cakes. Roll each cake in the crumbs until coated on all sides. Heat oil in a skillet.  Fry crab cakes quickly in the hot oil until golden brown. This goes really well with a cool, tasty beverage and some jalapeno cream cheese sauce.
If you need some bait, Yellow Bluff Marina has fiddlers, live shrimp and minnows. Sunbury Crab Company has minnows. Halfmoon Marina has live shrimp and the Midway Feed and Supply has fresh and salt water bait. Big Rudy at the Sunbury Country Store has frozen shrimp and squid.
Until next time, remember what Ol’ Tight Line always said: Get out there and get fishing and, if you do, always remember to keep a tight line. I say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down.
Now I would like to say God bless all the men and women who serve this great country and make all this possible. I am proud to be working out on Fort Stewart and to just be around them. Now do me a favor and wet a hook. It’s good for the soul.
Your buddy,
Tight Line Jr.
