Feb. 4: A Berkshire Terrace resident reported the theft of a laptop and scratch case valued at $1,698. The man told police he believed a former houseguest may have taken the items.

Feb. 8

• A Regency Place resident reported the theft of a laptop, cell phone, house key and iPod worth $850. The woman told police an acquaintance admitted taking the items and promised to return them but had failed to do so.

• A man was charged with reckless driving, DUI and an open container violation after a witness reported seeing him collide with another vehicle and drive off. The suspect was stopped on Glenn Bryant Road, where he fell asleep in the front seat of his vehicle. An open container was observed in the vehicle.

• A resident of Westchester Lane reported the theft of two Yorkshire terriers from her backyard. The dogs were valued at $950.

Feb. 9

• Police cited a man for providing a false name and carrying a concealed weapon after the man refused to stop contacting a resident of West Mills Street. The resident reported a suspicious person near her home attempting to get her attention by knocking on her window. The man police met on the scene gave a different name, and when he was detained and searched, police found a folding knife on him.

• A Hall Street resident reported her vehicle stolen from her residence. A patrol officer located the vehicle at a convenience store on West Gen. Screven Way and turned it over to the resident, who told police she lost her spare set of keys several months earlier.
