Sound off for Feb. 27

POSTED: February 27, 2012 10:49 a.m.

Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Why is a school being built right next door to a prison in Liberty County? Why are we building a school for our children who are supposed to be protected from the public, from people who are incarcerated for reasons unknown? Let’s be more concerned.

We would like coaches at Bradwell Institute who don’t use tobacco in front of the kids, who aren’t using profanity against the kids, who are organized and disciplined, the teams are disciplined, and aren’t using alcohol in the field house.

I’ve got a surgery coming up, and I was wondering: Can I have a fundraiser to offset my doctor bills and medical costs?

I want to say thank you to the staff at the Coastal Courier. Everyone is so nice and professional; thanks for the help that was given this week. I’ve been dealing with the staff for the 14 years that I’ve been in Hinesville, and everyone is so helpful, so nice and so kind.

On behalf of Long County, I’d like to say thank you to the Courier for supporting us. If someone was hoping to complain about it, all I can say is get a life.

I wonder what people think when they come in 196 East to Hinesville, and the first thing they see is a bar, which, we all know who goes there. Why don’t they put in a nice restaurant to show that Hinesville has improved?
