Hinesville Police blotter for Feb. 27

Recent reports of crimes and activity by the Hinesville Police Department include:

Feb. 20
An auto dealer on West Oglethorpe Highway reported the theft of two tailgates from trucks on its sales lot. The tailgates were valued at $2,000.

A resident of Gen. Stewart Way reported seeing a man attempt to enter her daughter’s bedroom through a window. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

A Cornette Court resident reported the theft of his car, television, game system and laptop, valued at $5,908. A witness told police he observed two men enter the house, exit and then drive the car into the garage before driving it away.

A resident of Becky Street reported the theft of her iPad and cell phone, valued at $1,050. The woman told police she believed her stepson took the items.

Feb. 21
A resident of Elm Street reported the theft of two laptops, a cell phone and a digital camera, valued at $2,400. The man told police he believed the items may have been taken by houseguests when he hosted a party the previous month.

A resident of Deerwood Court reported the theft of a vehicle valued at $50,000. The resident told police an acquaintance took the car without permission, which the subject denied. The car was returned not long after it was taken.

A resident of Forest Lake Drive reported the theft of a vehicle valued at $10,000. The resident told police he knew the subject and believed he may have taken the car to South Carolina.
