Dr. Phyllis Isley, director of the Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development at Georgia Southern University, spoke about the importance of workplace-wellness programs recently during the Rotary Club’s weekly meeting.

Evans County has worked with BBRED and the Center for Rural Health and Research at GSU to implement the Worksite Wellness Project. The Evans Memorial Hospital, the Claxton Bank, the Evans County Board of Education and NeSmith in Claxton are participating in the project. The purpose of the project is to help employees lead healthier lives by focusing on exercising and eating healthy.
