Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

I would like to ask our police department and our sheriff if they would sponsor a police-led motorcade in the city of Hinesville to support boxing for amateurs. This program would help keep young men off the streets, keep them out of trouble. A lot of them compete in a state, local and even national arena.

This goes out to Mr. Jones: I was in to pay my property tax, along with my car tags. I think the move was real nice, but I think the taxpayers should be notified about the move. I went up to the window, the young lady had her hair down. I was really shocked to see she was reading a book on property time.

People need to take into consideration that you cannot lie your way to heaven. That’s not the way to make it – it’s through love, peace, joy and understanding for your fellow man. Not lying.

We need a good football coach at Bradwell Institute that keeps his job by providing a good program for the kids and setting a good example for the kids.

I think it would be nice if the Coastal Courier would have a recipe of the week contest, and the winning recipe could be published in the paper.
