April 3: Patrol officers heard what sounded like a single gunshot in the vicinity of The Dugout at 818 E.G. Miles Parkway.
They responded to the scene and saw several hundred people moving in all directions from the building. They asked several people where the shooter was and if anyone was injured, and got several negative responses. They made their way to the front door, where a male victim was lying on the floor.
Witnesses told the officers that three fights broke out at once in the establishment, and the security personnel were busy trying to break up the fights. The victim reported he was on his way out of the building when the crowd would not let him move. The victim said he pushed on the man in front of him, who pulled out what appeared to be a gun and then the victim heard a gunshot.
The victim was not shot, but was mildly burned from the gunpowder. Several witnesses named the suspected shooter, but his identity could not be confirmed.

A man reported that someone entered his SUV over night on Live Oak Drive. The man’s wife reportedly noticed the vehicle with its doors open and contents strewn about in the morning, but she thought her husband left it that way, and she closed the doors. The man reported an iPod charger, valued at $20, stolen.
A Cherokee Trail man reported that he was house-sitting for a neighbor who is employed by the Liberty County School System. The neighbor’s company car was left in the driveway, and the man reported that one of the rear windows was cracked or ajar and he observed the armrest was open. He did not know if anything was missing. The resident who drives the car was notified to contact authorities if anything was taken.
