Former Bradwell Institute track star Quintunya Chapman did well as a freshman on the University of Georgia’s track team.
At the 2012 Mark Colligan Memorial track meet in Lincoln, Neb., Chapman placed seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.23) and eighth in the 400, finishing in 58.27.
In February’s Virginia Tech Elite meet she placed ninth in the 200-meter dash (25.22) and ninth in the 400 at 58.10, according to UGA.
Chapman ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team as the squad finished in 3:54.15 at the Tiger Paw Invitational in February at Clemson. She also combined with teammates to finish with the third-best distance medley relay time (11:35.42) in UGA history to take sixth at the SEC meet.
At the start of the outdoor season Chapman placed fifth in the 200 and 400-meter dash on April 14 in the Spec Town National Teams Invitational.
The Bulldogs are at the SEC outdoor championships this weekend at LSU.
