Hinesville American Legion Post 168 Ladies Auxiliary recently honored students in high schools in Liberty County and helped pay to continue their educations.

The organization presented two $500 scholarships to a graduate from both Bradwell Institute, Kyle Smith, and Liberty County High School., Tanisha Kindley.

The auxiliary also announced it is sponsoring two students to attend Girls State at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro in June. The auxiliary pays $210 per girl to attend the week-long session and gives each girl $20 for spending money.

BI’s Girls State representative is Ashlee Marie Howe. LCHS’s is Nakeya Antonyse Carmichael.
