Cannon firings set at Fort Pulaski

SAVANNAH — Fort Pulaski National Monument has cannon firings on both Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer.

Cannons will be fired three times daily on the weekends, staff permitting.

Here is the program schedule:

10 a.m. — guided tour of fort

11 — cannon firing

noon — musket firing

1 p.m. — cannon firing

1:30 —guided tour of fort

2:30 — musket firing

3 — cannon firing

4 — guided tour of fort

5 — musket firing

The national monument is on Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah. Admission is $5 per person, free for ages 15 and under.  Call 786-5787 for details, or go to www.nps.gov/fopu.
