June 14: Sexual assault, simple battery — A charge of sexual assault and counter-charge of simple battery were made at 1202 Desert Storm Drive in Hinesville. A 26-year old woman reported her 36-year old boyfriend left her at the residence of his 59-year old friend to go to a bar. The two men drank heavily and supposedly got in an argument, so the boyfriend walked back to the residence. The other man returned a short time later.

She said while her boyfriend was in another room, the other man repeatedly made unwanted advances, touching and grabbing her private parts. When she called her boyfriend from the other room and told him, he and the other man began arguing again, with the boyfriend telling the other man to keep his hands off his woman. The man denied touching the woman except to “hug” her. He told police the boyfriend had punched him in the face while they were arguing. Police found no evidence the man had been hit.
