After a thunderstorm forced the rescheduling of the pool games on Thursday the Hinesville Barracudas hit the diamond Friday afternoon.
The Barracudas, competing in the United States Specialty Sports Association 14U Class AA World Series, finished 2-1 in pool play by Friday night on Domtar Field in Kingsport, Tenn.
The Barracudas faced Virginia’s Prospects Stars Blue Team in game one and trailed by two runs in the second inning. The team got things turned around and won 8-3.
Barracuda pitcher Ryan Desbiens pitched four innings and Kendrick Shipman pitched one inning, but no other information was availale.
In game two the boys lost 4-1 against the Springfield (Ohio) Heat.
Barracuda pitcher Evan Crystal started on the mound and pitched 6 2/3 innings. Jacari Roberts finished the game.
But the team stayed focused and came back to win game three, a 6-4 victory over the D3 Stingers. Kyle Hill was the Barracudas’ pitcher for the game and win.
The boys were set to begin bracket play Saturday at 10:15 a.m. against the Arkansas Slyders.
