July 2: Fraud — A Lake Jordan Drive resident reported a suspicious response to an item he listed for sale on Craigslist.com. Two potential buyers sent him the same email, and the complainant responded to one of the emails. The buyer requested the seller’s full name, address and Paypal account information.

Instead of receiving a payment from the buyer, the complainant reportedly received requests for $2,000 in fees and charges on Paypal. The case was handed to detectives, and the complainant was told to discontinue contact with the suspicious buyer.

Burglary, no forced entry — A resident in the 200 block of Easy Street reported $1,023 worth of electronics missing from her home after a trip out of town.

The complainant reportedly noticed the back door was unlocked upon her return but did not think anything of it because her husband was home and he seldom locks the door.

Burglary, no forced entry and damage to property — A resident of the 1300 block of Independence Place reported that his vehicle, which was inside a locked storage unit, was keyed.

The vehicle’s side mirrors were also broken and a windshield wiper bent.

Theft by taking and criminal trespass — The Holy Church of God on Shaw Road reported more than $200 worth of concrete bricks and blocks stolen from a 40-foot container that should have been closed.

The complainant also noticed that a hole had been cut in a fence between the church and Shaw Road Mini Storage. The case was passed on to investigators.
